What does a ticket cost?

Builder is 200 RON, or 100 RON with a student email (.edu or university issued, verified at check-in). Visitor is 200 RON. Meals and drinks are included on every tier. VIP is 800 RON per person (everything Builder gets, plus two nights at ThePlace and spa access).

ThePlace, Mamaia. On the Black Sea coast, about 2.5h from Bucharest. The whole event runs in one venue: rooms, terraces for hacking, beach for the BBQ.

Do I need to know AI / ML / agents?

You don't need to be an expert. Mentors help with AI-specific parts. You do need to ship code in a modern stack (Python, JS/TS, or another relevant language) and have built something before (a project, internship, public repo).

Can I come solo, no team?

Yes, totally fine. Friday evening we run matchmaking. You connect with other hackers based on skills and interests. Most teams form on the spot.

Can I come with my team?

Yes, max 5 people per team. Each member needs their own Builder ticket.

No. Hack A Ton is on-site. It's part of the experience. Networking, in-person mentoring, dinner on the beach. If you can't make it to Mamaia, see you next edition.

What happens if I pick a sponsor's topic?

If you pick a sponsor's topic and your team ships something working, the sponsor can become your first client. That means a post-event pilot contract on terms you negotiate. (Not mandatory. You can also just take the code and go.)

What's the prize pool?

€6,000+ in total prize value across cash, API credits, and partner perks. €1,000 cash for the first-place team. The full breakdown by track will go up before the event.

Laptop, charger, your wide-band attention span, swimwear (optional but recommended). Meals are on us across every tier. Builder and Visitor tickets don't include accommodation. VIP does.
